Meet the Team

Addison Stone, MD

Dr. Addison T. Stone, MD specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery. He treats a full range of conditions affecting the entire spine, including degenerative changes, trauma and scoliosis. Dr. Stone exhausts all non-operative treatments — including physical therapy and injections — before considering more invasive options. More than 95% of his spine surgeries use minimally invasive techniques. He strives to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients using the least invasive techniques possible.

    Dr. Stone chose a career in spine surgery because he enjoys the challenge of diagnosing and treating spinal conditions. He finds it very rewarding to see the quality of a patient’s life significantly improve with proper diagnosis and treatment. He spends considerable time listening to and examining his patients to accurately determine the cause of their symptoms. He encourages his patients to be active in their medical care. He enjoys educating them about their spine in order for them to make more informed decisions.

When surgery is indicated, he spends considerable time explaining the procedure to his patients and making sure they feel comfortable throughout the process. He stays current with the latest advances in treatment options in order to provide his patients with the highest level of care.

Garrett Gray, PA-C

Garrett Gray is originally from northern California and relocated to the Northwest in 1996. He started working in the medical field at Harborview Medical Center assisting anesthesia in the operating room. He graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at the University of Washington Medical School (MEDEX) in 2012. Following graduation, Garrett started his career with Proliance, and brings experience from general surgery and orthopedic surgery to the ProOrtho team.

Currently, he works with Dr. Addison Stone in minimally invasive spine surgery and sees patients in clinic with spine-related disorders. Together they work as a close team ensuring the patient’s expectations and needs are met in a detailed and timely manner.

America Huertas

Medical Assistant

America is Dr. Stone’s medical assistant. She runs his clinic to make sure appointments run on time and smoothly. She is the first point of contact and can answer most questions. If she is unable to answer any questions, she will have Dr. Stone or Garrett Gray, PA-C contact the patient. America recently relocated from San Diego and enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and working out at the gym.


Sarah Avey

Surgery Coordinator

Sarah is the surgery scheduling coordinator for Dr. Stone. She works with patients to schedule their surgery and ensures all necessary paperwork and lab tests are completed in a timely fashion to avoid delays. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys the outdoors with her husband and dog, Rosey. She also loves to spend time with family and friends.
